The Swift Direct Proton Fuel Cell aims to solve the problems associated with contemporary power generation in portable applications. The main goal of this technology is to create a practical means by which to do this. Swift is implementing cost effective materials for this effort, in particularly stressing little or no use of noble metal catalysts. A liquid-liquid system running an energy dense reaction has been chosen to get away from having to store compressed hydrogen gas, a cumbersome safety hazard when being transported. The chemicals being used are safe, environmentally friendly, economical and renewable. That being said, the Swift Fuel Cell could foster a gateway to energy independence and tremendously aid the effort to leave petroleum based power behind.
